122 Corson Autumn Newsletter What a year it has been at 122 Corson and Blue Ribbon Farm! As we end our 9th season, we want to thank you for making 2024 our BEST year at the restaurant in its 9 year history. Our quiet little restaurant has become known far and wide, for which we are very grateful. We have welcomed many new folks to 122 this year and we continue to enjoy the company of our long-time friends and patrons that have helped us become so popular. This popularity could not have been achieved without the extraordinary help from our super chef, Ed Lamarre and our professional staff; Carey Bor, Mandy Stetson, Nathan VanSoest, Sandy Lamarre, Ryal Gove, Ryan Gilbert, Katie Kirwan, and Kendra Bor. These young people are not only our staff but our friends. Guests may enjoy the dining experience, but we are the honored ones to be sharing a night in the happy and entertaining company of our staff. We have a lot of fun working behind the scene. On the farm front, our goats have had a happy summer, and the same for the sheep and hens. The apple orchard took a break from production; perhaps next year might offer a crop. The sheep did what they could to clean up the few apple drops, but their request is for a larger bounty next year. The hens are just happy in their freedom. As mentioned in an earlier newsletter, the wood-processor has been a really good asset to the farm. It has made our winter’s firewood chore so much easier, safer, and faster. It has been a very dry fall and the woods roads are firm and accessible. We may have the 2025-2026 firewood harvested sooner than later. It’s been a banner year for acorns which probably accounts for the deer keeping to the woods more than the open fields. There is ample feed for wildlife between the beechnuts, acorns, and juicy saplings. Fall foliage was breathtaking this year as once again, we enter the leafless months. We’ve spied snow on Mt. Washington and for us, we can only hope that we have a good snowy winter. What’s winter without the good white stuff to play in! We look forward to seeing you along the way and once again, thank you for a GREAT season. Mary & Bob Make a Reservation: http://www.122corson.com |
